KEVIN AVERY

About Kevin

Drawing inspiration from the summertime feel of artists like Kenny Chesney, to the classic country sounds of George Strait, to harder contemporary rock groups like the Foo Fighters, Kevin Avery has forged his own style of modern country music on his debut EP "Die in Tennessee." Having spent the summers of his childhood tending to the pastures on his Grandpa’s farm in Wakefield, Kansas, Kevin’s love for country music runs deep, and he’s thrilled to finally be leaving his mark on a genre the means so much to him. Kevin started taking piano lessons as a young kid, but never developed a passion for it and traded music for sports. After college, he moved to California for a job completely unrelated to music, and found himself subletting his first apartment from a guy who just happened to have left an old guitar beside the bed. Kev thought “I might as well learn to play this,” fell in love with it immediately, and within a year had started writing his own songs. Six of those songs make up "Die in Tennessee." Self produced, mixed by Grammy-winning rock legend Mark Needham (Dolly Parton, The Killers, Fleetwood Mac) and mastered by the Grammy-winning Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sheryl Crow) the sound of Die in Tennessee has been crafted by some of the best the musical talents around. Thanks for listening, and turn it up.
